Xero update - Navigation: video below

You may have heard that from the end of November, Xero will be improving the Xero navigation bar so we can all easily find the tools and information we use most often.

The improvements are based on research and testing with hundreds of people, including accountants, bookkeepers, current small business users, and some users brand new to Xero. The new intuitive labels will make more sense to everyone – beginners and experts alike.

Take a sneak peak

From 13 November, you can see the new navigation in the demo company. Here’s how to access it:

1. Click your organisation name at the top left of the header

2. Select My Xero

3. Click Try the Demo Company

IRD update - Payday filing

From 1 April 2019 all employers must:

• file employment information every payday instead of an employer monthly schedule

• provide new and departing employees’ information, for example, addresses and their date of birth if they have provided it to you

• file electronically (from payday compatible software or through myIR) if your annual PAYE/ESCT is $50,000 or more.

Note: The due date for payment remains the same at the 20th of the month (or 5th and 20th of the month for twice-monthly filers).
